Launches
Companions
A launch whose creator is a program: its creator fees are bought back and burned, shared with holders or paid to the launcher by code, with no keeper to trust.
How it works#
- The companion creates the launch, signing as its creator from an address only its program can sign for. Every creator fee lands with it, and only its code decides what happens to it.
- Every step is open to anyone: claim the fees, buy back and burn, share with holders, pay the launcher, release the first buy as it vests. Each checks that it is due and pays whoever sends it 0.5% of what it moves. Bordrless sends them every couple of minutes; if it stopped, any holder could.
- One program,
6ZUM1gWBH9hBBNoJoaVAGwSftyZ6CUda6vUZTW9MsJuo; each launch has its own account at["companion", mint], which a token’s page reads.
Where the creator fee goes#
On the launch page the creator fee’s row says where it goes: to you (an ordinary launch, no companion), bought back and burned, to holders, or a split of the three in steps of 10%, part of it yours if you like. Anything but all of it to you is run by a companion. The templates are three such splits, by name:
| Template | Each creator fee | The launcher’s first buy |
|---|---|---|
| Buys itself | 100% bought back and burned. Every creator fee buys the token back and burns it. No dev. | None: no dev at all |
| Rug-proof dev | 50% to holders, 50% to the launcher, in SOL. Half to holders, half to you. Your first buy vests. | Vests over 7, 30 or 90 days |
| Buyback & reward | 50% bought back and burned, 50% to holders. Half buys the token back and burns it, half goes to holders. | Vests over 30 days |
Buybacks#
- At most 1 SOL a buyback, at least a minute apart, and never more than a quarter of what a buy and a sell pay in fees, as a share of the pool’s SOL (at most 1%): at that size a sandwich costs more than it makes.
- Each buys no worse than the pool’s own quote at that moment, less its fees and 2%, and burns what it bought.
- A buyback waits while the price is more than 3% above its reference: the opening price, which moves toward the price by 5% an interval while it waits, and only down when it buys.
The launcher’s first buy#
Made through the companion with the launch and held by it, within what max wallet lets one wallet hold. It vests evenly from the launch and is sent to the launcher as it does, once the early-buyer lock has ended: the launcher can’t sell what hasn’t vested.
Limits#
- No creator wallet lock: the companion vests the first buy instead.
- Holder rewards on whenever holders take a share of the fee.
- Every fee bought back and burned means no dev: no first buy.
- From the launch form’s DIY rules or a kit preset; not from a launch config (Custom config, Half-Life, your own hook): the companion program refuses a custom hook for now.
- Setting up the companion is a transaction of its own before the launch. If it lands and the launch doesn’t, the launch page offers “Get your SOL back”, signed by your wallet and the token’s key, which the page keeps in your browser until the launch lands.
From code: launch with a companion or crank one with the SDK.
